left:behind is an audio tour of the Inscape Arts building in Seattle. If you have access to the building, feel free to download the file and start at the blue square in the lobby.
If you don't have access to Inscape Arts, email
donnellyinscape@gmail.com to make an appointment.
You can also just listen to it to hear the story and imagine the adventure around you.
left:behind is an audio experience - part walking tour, part audio cinema - that takes you through the complicated history of the old INS building in what is now Seattle’s International District. As soon as you put on the headphones, you are invited to start an adventure, follow this building through time, and try to survive…
The people who have lain on this deck knew about distance. This building was made to store and process immigrants. Thousands of people from all over in the world have come through these doors and ended up right here; some were sent home, some became free and made Seattle their home. Some never made it out.
Who were they? What were they thinking? What is left of them?
